Country music singer Morgan Wallen announces birth of his son  Tennessean

Country music singer Morgan Wallen is a dad.

“Little Wilder, I’m a changed man. Since you came into the world Friday (July 10), I see mine differently now. It’s not just me anymore, and I’m glad it’s not. This year has been the hardest of my life in so many ways, but that’s not what i will remember it by. You are,” he wrote on Instagram. “You are a gift and this tough year just made sense.”

The post includes a photo of the 27-year-old holding his newborn.

“I’ll be the Dad you deserve as well as the co-parent your mother deserves. Since you were born, I know that every decision I make will be with you in mind. I promise I’ll always protect you, and do my best to be an example of a good, godly man just like my daddy was for me.”

The singer is known for hits like “Whiskey Glasses” and “Chasin’ You.” He was a contestant on “The Voice” in 2014.

Wallen made headlines in May when he was arrested on Lower Broadway and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges.

Police said Wallen got kicked out of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse at about 11 p.m. for “kicking glass items.” On the street, police said, he got into verbal fights with passersby while officers watched.

Davidson County court records show prosecutors declined to prosecute the case earlier this month.
