Apokafunk is a new approach to a dark/progressive form of funk. Derived from two words. Apokalyptein: (Greek origin), to uncover; and Funk: a form of music composed of traditional forms of Black music (gospel, soul, blues, RnB, rock n roll, jazz). With a steady back-beat as the spine of the music; Apokafunk incorporates haunting/eclectic melodies as the substance of the sound. Although I am a guitarist first and foremost, any instrument needed to capture that sound, I will use. As a solo project, total creative freedom of expression, and freedom from catagories is the goal. Much respect to all the innovators out there who continue to push the limits of this trip we call music. Music is life, so keep living!
