Hey everybody!
I just want to send out a short update on our progress, so you don't think we're just stringing y'all along.
A couple of weeks ago, Darron stopped by the studio and we finished re-recording the Focus bass tracks. Wow, what a difference! I couldn't believe it. There was a ton of low end, yet so much clarity. It was like night and day. ... And that says nothing of the killer parts he laid down. He made my job as engineer and producer easy.
That all changed when Kev came in last week (just kidding). He laid down a couple little things that had come to him, so we had fun with that.
So, where are we? I've been a mixing fool (or a fool of some kind, I assure you). I've got about a third of the album remixed. You guys are gonna dig this! I'll put up some mp3's at our Myspace and Songtiger sites as soon as they are mastered.
What after this? Well, after real artwork is done and duplication occurs, we should be well into rehearsals for the next album. Yep, we're excited to get some actual NEW material out there. We've been discussing which tunes to stick on the next record. Go ahead and send your suggestions in, we'll take your opinions into account, because we do this for you! Taking everything in-house is the best decision we've ever made. It has made everything so easy. No budget constraints, no outside agendas, no "I'm just a hired guy" apathy. If you've got a good ear and a sense of what makes a good song better, then owning your own recording gear is a must in the digital age.
Tour plans? Well, we're making this up as we go along, but we want to leave that in your hands. We want to go where the demand is. We'll keep track of album sales, Songtiger fans, Myspace friends, Eventful.com demands, etc., etc. But if you want us to come to you, be proactive! Start spreading the word now. Get your friends interested in what we do. Word of mouth from a friend is the best way to turn somebody on to a band in this day and age where there is so much information coming at you that you don't know what to pay attention to (and we all know that the majors have all but killed the way we used to find new music).
So, this was a bit longer than I intended, but thank you all so much for your support! We love all of our friends near and far. Keep tuned in, and we hope to see you all soon.
Peace and love. Jason
