Music festival is off this year | News, Sports, Jobs  The Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

The Northern Current organizing team has made the difficult decision to postpone the event until next year.

As the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we had hoped there would be a way to hold the festival in some form by the time September rolled around. But as the day gets closer, it’s become clearer that there is no responsible way to hold this music festival on its traditional date, the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

With our first year of the festival under our belt, the Northern Current team was excited to expand upon what we learned last year and bring you an event with more art, vendors and fun this year. But the health of you and of our community is incredibly important to us, so we will have to take this extra time to think of how to make 2021 even better.

We look forward to getting back to it next year, and dancing in Riverside Park with you all on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021.

Stay safe!
