July’s kept Hip Hop fans busy with Logic, Lupe Fiasco, Westside Gunn, Joey Bada$$, Gucci Mane and more dropping projects — not to mention posthumous releases from the late Pop Smoke and Juice Wrld. The final New Music Friday of the month has another jam-packed lineup with a variety of generations represented.
This week features Benny The Butcher’s first project of 2020 and the major label debut of Shoreline Mafia. Fans also get to enjoy some tracks from Lil Baby, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates and NLE Choppa, among others, as part of the Road To Fast 9 mixtape.

Benny The Butcher & DJ Drama – Black Soprano Family
Griselda Records fans finally get to hear from Benny The Butcher after receiving multiple projects from Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine in 2020. The Buffalo-bred MC teams with DJ Drama for a new entry in the long-running Gangsta Grillz series to showcase his Black Soprano Family roster.
Shoreline Mafia – Mafia Bidness
OhGeesy, Fenix Flexin, Rob Vicious and Master Kato take the next step in the careers with their first studio album for Atlantic Records. Shoreline Mafia’s Mafia Bidness LP features the crew working with Future, Wiz Khalifa, Drakeo The Ruler, 03 Greedo and more.
Various Artists – Road To Fast 9
F9, the next installment of the Fast & Furious movie franchise, has been delayed until 2021, but a 13-track soundtrack for the film is available now. The Road To Fast 9 mixtape boasts contributions from Lil Baby, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates, Wiz Khalifa, NLE Choppa and Don Toliver, among others.
Sleepy Hallow – The Black House
Sleepy Hallow didn’t wait long to drop a follow-up to Sleepy For President. After releasing that project in June, the Brooklyn drill rapper comes through with a five-track EP titled The Black House.
E-40 – The Curb Commentator Channel 2
Bay Area Hip Hop pioneer E-40 continues his Curb Commentator series with the second entry titled Channel 2. The veteran MC’s latest EP is a five-track release containing a guest appearance by Big K.R.I.T.
Nyck Caution – Open Flame
July has turned out to be a good month for Pro Era fans. Two weeks after The Light Pack bundle from Joey Bada$$ hit streaming platforms, the collective delivers more music in the form of Nyck Caution’s Open Flame EP.

Columbia Records artist Dominic Fike has released his first studio album What Could Possibly Go Wrong. His major label debut includes 14 tracks with production by Kenny Beats, Julian Cruz, The Roommates and more.
Flee Lord & Pete Rock – The People’s Champ
Flee Lord, a protégé of the late Prodigy, has linked up with the legendary Pete Rock for an album titled The People’s Champ. The 10-track LP is produced entirely by Rock, who also handled all of the beats on last year’s Retropolitan LP with Skyzoo and the Smoke DZA/Benny collab EP Statue Of Limitations.
