LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A music festival kicked off in La Crosse at Pearl Street Brewery on Friday.
‘Who Gives A Fest’ is a two-day event filling the void of live music in our area.
It’s giving local artists the chance to showcase their talent while raising money for the Sprout for Kids Foundation to help area bars and restaurants affected by the pandemic and Punk Rock Saves Lives, a humanitarian organization.
To maintain social distancing, concert-goers can buy a VIP ‘pod’ site or car spot; each is spaced 15 feet apart.
You can also get in on food and merchandise.
On Saturday the Apothik Food Truck will be rolling up.
From bluegrass to metal, and everything in between, its giving people feelings of nostalgia and how things used to be not too long ago.
“It’s been really hard, and one thing we wanted to do is get our artists and everyone back to work and in front of people again. You can do live streams as much as you want but there is nothing quite like seeing a band in person,” said event coordinator Jimmy “Mort” Heiderscheit.
There are still some tickets available, so you’ll want to get them before they’re gone!
Friday’s concert goes until 10 pm, then things start back up on Saturday at 4 pm.
