The novel coronavirus may be keeping in-person festivals from happening, but it’s also created an array of online streaming events for fans to enjoy, from Insomniac’s virtual Rave-A-Thon’s to the BeachLife Festival’s summer livestream series. And now even the smaller festivals are getting in on the action.

Joshua Tree Music Festival, which considers itself the anti-Coachella, announced that it will have a streaming event later this month dubbed “Joshua Tree Music Festival Presents: From the Desert with Love.” It will run Oct. 23-25 and will feature sets from artists such as Joshua Tree local Jesika von Rabbit, Thumpasaurus, Vir McCoy, Heather Christie, Afrolicious and Balkan Bump, according to a news release.

Sets will be performed at the Joshua Tree Music Festival site and will be pre-recorded to “ensure the best quality video and audio for people’s living room dance parties,” according to the news release. In addition to music, the event will feature a daily mindfulness class live-streamed from the festival site as well as what the news release describes as “silly shenanigans.”

The $10 tier gets fans access to the stream while the $60 tier gets fans access to the stream, a limited edition sticker, Zoom room invites, a limited edition “From the Desert with Love” T-shirt and more.

The news release notes that festival organizers hope that “From the Desert with Love” will be the first in a series of streaming festivals they hope to bring to fans.
