Outside Lands launches Inside Lands music festival this month  The Mercury News

Are you ready for Inside Lands?

It’s the new virtual online festival from — you guessed it — the Outside Lands promoters and it will feature “two days of music and never before seen footage to celebrate all things Outside Lands from the past 12 years of the festival’s history,” according to a news release.

Inside Lands runs Aug. 28-29 and will stream exclusively on Twitch at www.twitch.tv/sfoutsidelands. It’s free to watch and the stream begins at 4 p.m. Aug. 28.

It sounds like a cool way to pass the time while waiting for the next Outside Lands, which is set for August 2021 with a lineup that includes Tame Impala, Lizzo, The Strokes, Tyler, The Creator, Vampire Weekend, J Balvin, Kehlani, The 1975 and many other acts.

“While we wish we were able to gather in Golden Gate Park this August, we are still looking forward to taking Outside Lands inside and celebrating all that makes the festival such a memorable experience,” says Allen Scott, head of concerts & festivals at Another Planet Entertainment and co-producer of Outside Lands. “Our hope is by sharing live performances and interviews from fan favorites and iconic sets from the archives, in addition to shining a spotlight on the small businesses and Bay Area community who are the heartbeat of our festival, we are providing a forum for fans to enjoy the many highlights of the festival safely at home.”

The programming details for Inside Lands, including the schedule of past performances being shown, will be announced soon at www.sfoutsidelands.com/insidelands.
